LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY NIGHT

Okay. So here’s what happhapphappened. FIRST. I went to pick up Hattie at like, 5. Then we went to Westport and walked over to the Westport Coffeehouse with Helena and Eli and Ben and bought LEMON SEED POPPY NUFFINS! Yes, ladies and gents, that’s what they’re called now.

Then we hopped next door to good ol’ B-E-A-U-MONT CLUB. Fuck. I love that place. We went in and hung out in the back yard, waiting for the concerto to begin. Then, we talked to “Slimfast,” AKA Ried, one of the radio DJs for 96.5 The Buzzzzzz. Told him happy birthday, talked about shiz, etc. THEN! We talked to “Scoops,” AKA David, another radio DJ. Helena told him about how she met him when she was 8, and we talked about how much we love him, etc etc. He’s coo.

Thennn we went over to Afentra, yet another radio DJ. I had hardly gotten done saying hello when she freaked out and hugged me. I love her. Like seriously, she rocks. And then of course, there’s Lazlo, her husband and another radio DJ. He’s chilllll. Helena and I talked to him about how cigarettes, beer, and old makeup are the smells of our childhood and how that’s kind of weird. Then we talked about how we love when he gives us free concert tickets, so we decided that if we ever call into the radio station, or facebook him, we can say “Cigarettes, beer, and old makeup” if we want tickets. I loveeee connections!

Anyway. As for the bands- Pilot Speed was okay, I didn’t pay a lot of attention. The Limousines were chillllllll. Miike Snow is better recorded, but they weren’t bad. Ida Maria was awesome. <3

Then Helena bought a shirt, and I really wanted one too, but I only had like $7. So I asked like 859043893 different people for money, and finally got enough to buy a shirt. I got $5 from Cameron, $2 from Helena, $2 from Sam, $0.75 from Dylan, and $0.25 from Slimfast. Then I bought a shirt that says “I like you so much better when you’re naked” on the front and “I like me so much better when you’re naked” on the back. It’s a liiiittle bit too small, cuz the only sizes they had were small and extra-small. But whatever. I fought for that shirt, I’m gonna wear it. :B

Then right before we left, Helena and I went to talk to Slimfast again so I could thank him for the quarter that contributed to getting my shirt. And he was like “How old are you guys?” and I was like “13 and 14,” pointing to me and Helena respectively. He was like “Oh my god, you guys are the coolest 13 and 14 years olds I have EVER met. Even the people I met when I was 13.” And we were like “Yeah we get that a lot.” And he was like “Well, it was nice meeting you. I hope to be seeing you at more concerts in the future.” And we were like HELLZYEAHLOLZ.

Theeeeen. We went to the bar to see if water was free, and the bar lady was like “No, but you can have a cup of ice.” And we were like, um okay. So we stood there eating ice when this guy in a Beaumont uniform started talking to us. He asked how old we were, so we told him. He was like “That’s cool, I have a son your age. Hey, do you want to look at a picture of him and tell me what you think about his looks?” and we were like, uhhh okay. And he showed us a picture of his son on his iphone thingy and we were like “Ummm yeah.” He was okay-looking, I guess. Iunno, I don’t think I’m really the right person to ask. ANYWAY. So then he was like “Are you guys thirsty?” and we were like “Well we have ice.” And he said to the bar lady, he was like, “Hey, give me two water bottles for these girls.” And she was like, ummm okay. And so we got water. It was grand.

AND THEN! We were about to leave when we saw this Beaumont security guard. We had met him twice before, at two previous concerts (The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Gogol Bordello) and he recognized us so we were like HEYYYY. And he was like “Did you see that Ida Maria was just signing stuff?” and we were like “No, we just missed her.” And he was like “Well, hey. Next time you guys come to a concert here, come find me! I’ll take you to meet the band.” and we were like OHMYGODILOVEYOU.

And then I went home and ate like 30 pizza rolls. The end!
